On November 10th, 2015, Save The Brave Organization will host the 240th Marine Corps Birthday & Veterans Day Bash at Bastards American Canteen aka the West Coast Tuns-Tavern. 11045 Downey Ave, Downey, CA 90241. Marine Corps Tradition:
On November 10th 1775 the Marine Corps was created by a resolution of Continental Congress at Tuns-Tavern Philadelphia. Since that date thousands of men have borne the name “Marine”. In memory of them it is fitting that those that call themselves Marines should commemorate the birthday of our corps by calling to mind the glories of its long and illustrious history.
Along with honoring the Corps birthday we will pay homage to all veterans past and present who have served in our nations military in honor of Veterans Day

Simon Litke was a combat decorated United States Marine. Everyone who knew Litke would characterize him as charming, encouraging, and a leader. As a leader of Marines, Litke taught men how to survive, and also made the days under the hot Ramadi sun bearable. On November 2, 2015 Litke left us with a lot of questions unanswered. We lost an iconic Marine to the battles we still face as veterans, suicide.
Please help us to help his loved ones heal, as we attempt to fly out to Litke’s memorial on November 12. 40 Veterans who served with Litke in the Iraq theater of combat are requesting assistance in the form of $20,000 in order to say their final goodbyes to their brother.
Sadly, this tragedy can either promote more despondency and spread a contagious outbreak of trauma. Or this tragedy can bring America’s warriors together and help stop the torment of the debilitating nature of PTSD. You can be a part of the healing that America owes to our young men who sacrificed their life in support of this nation’s freedom.
